Jeanell's Story
After graduating from LHS, I was a secretary at Lawrence Livermore Lab for about 7 years. Then I moved back to Albuquerque where I was born. I studied Speech-Language Pathology in my undergraduate degree at UNM and then got my Master's as an Audiologist. I was an Audiologist for 5 years and became extremely bored with it. Then I moved out to Seattle, WA for 2 years and got another Master's in Occupational Therapy. I have been in practice for almost 20 years in the field of geriatric OT. Albuquerque part-time now that I can afford that.
My partner and I have been together 20 years. She is a tenured professor at UNM and we have 1 dog and 2 cats. We both use an attendant, she for dressing, bathing and toileting and I for household management and cooking.... I am never going to be a cook. So it is nice to have that support.
I use a handcycle for exercise and try to go to a pool about twice a week. I have lost 25 pounds so far and still have to lose some more. But such is the story of having a slower metabolism! :)
