Jeanette's Story

Life I attended my 35th this past Saturday night. I stood in the corner of the room and at a certain point I thought to myself, that I was still that shy, innocent, tongue tied girl back in High School. Nothing had changed in that regard. It was like stepping back in time. But as far as my life's journey thus far, I have learned a great deal about life. I have learned that I am a good person. I have learned that I was capable of raising another human being on my own. I have learned that I can contribute to our world by giving back and more importantly, I still have more to learn, even 35 years out of High School. I have two wonderful grandaughters which I have been blessed with. I had my son the day before my 19th birthday and raised him on my own. While I had many adversities during my early adult years, I would not change a thing I went through, because it made me the person I am today. I recently read an astrological description of a cusp, Gemini/Cancer (which I am) and while I am not one who reads horoscopes, the description could not be more accurate, than if I wrote it myself. What follows are a few excerpts: Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac. Gemini's examine the world through intellect. Cancer is the fourth sign of the zodiac. Cancers are emotional and traditional. Those born on the Gemini/Cancer cusp display great imagination and tend to be very expressive. They are interested in heredity and ancestors, and this is reflected in their desire to care for relatives and friends. They love to learn, and their lives are general...Expand for more
ly centered around the home. They are caregivers. Gemini/Cancers tend to have many different interests that they study in great detail. They tend to be adaptable and able to tackle multiple tasks simultaneously. They are communicators, quick-witted and inventive. They are highly intuitive and generally domestic and peaceful, Gemini/Cancers often have many friends and acquaintances, and they won't sit still when loved ones are threatened. They are very loyal. Emotion is a key part of their lives and is checked and balanced with logic and objectivity. Their awareness and intellectual approach to life is refreshing, and their emotional honesty is something to be admired. Gemini/Cancers have close family ties with their brothers and sisters. They often remain youthful and lighthearted their whole lives. These people have a strong association with food and a willingness to always try something new; they often make excellent cooks. Their many interests make them entertaining and stimulating conversationalists who really love people. Physical exercise and artistic endeavors, written or on canvas, allow them to channel their swirling emotions into productive output. Their love for conversation and food ensures that leisurely dinners with friends are highly enjoyable for them, and their inquisitive and literary orientation means they enjoy mentally challenging pursuits as well. If there is only one regret so far, it would be that I haven't traveled as much as I would have liked to. I hope that will be something that I can do in the near future.
