Jeanie's Story
Wow, where do I start?
here goes...
As you know my name is Jeanie Cox ...that would have been Jeanie Padgett back then... WAY BACK THEN!!!
Uh...Humm...let's see...I grew up in South Augusta on Ivey Road, off of Bungalow Road, with my 3 brothers, David, Mack & R.L. Padgett. I attended Bungalow Elementary, then Murphey Jr. High, for the 8th grade, and even though this is where some of my most painful memories began it is also where some of the best memories of my childhood are. With Ann DeLorenzo, Robyn Watkins, Andrea Wilson, and my brothers crew- (boy did us girls thank our brothers, my 3 above & Mike W. & Mike D., for their friends...:) ). We had some fun times in that neighbor hood. A lot of funny memories.
Then my family moved me way over to the Glenn Hills area where I attended Glenn Hills High School. I WAS NOT happy!!! At first I was very upset about leaving all of my friends just as I was about to start Butler High School, a school I had looked forward to going to for years. I was crushed! It was probably for the best b/c I wouldn't have gotten to go to Butler anyway as I would have been sent to T. W. Josey along with some of my other friends in our area, but it was still where my friends were going so I wanted to go too, but I didn't. I soon adjusted to Glenn Hills and made a couple of good friends there. But my heart was always at my old neighborhood school with my young childhood friends & schoolmates. I only attended GHH for 1 1/2 school terms as I dropped out in the 10th grade, after mid-term exams, to get married. I have 3 beautiful children, 1 son, Greg and 2 daughters, Stephanie and Courtney. They are a true blessing from God. ...Expand for more
I am currently married to a wonderful man named Ronnie Cox. We will be married 11 years this July. We live in Graniteville SC, just across the river. He has 2 children, so now I have 5 great children. I'm also Nanny to 9 of the most beautiful grandchildren ever, plus 4 more step-grandchildren. I absolutely love being a grandmother. These children bring me so much joy and laughter and give such unconditional love that I can't image my life before they came along.
I love my God... He has replaced so much of my pain & heartache with so much peace and joy... What an awesome God!!! My prayer is for everyone to have this kind of peace within them, there's nothing that compares to it.
My life after school was pretty uneventful.
I did evenually go back to finish school which I'm very proud to have done. Then I took some computer and accounting classes, (this was in the mid 80's). I don't do much now as I'm not working b/c of some medical disabilities I'm struggling with... but it gives me plenty of time to enjoy my babies...Yay!
So, see...now you know why I have 3 different high schools listed.
- GHHS, the last one I attened, (but did not grad)... :(
- BHS, where my heart is, and where a lot of my friends went, but not me... :(
- TWJ, where I would have attened with my classmates but did not get to... :(
So if you think you may remember me please feel free to stop by and sign my page or even if you don't remember it's still nice to hear from you...
Love to you all and God Bless!
Jeanie
