Jeanne's Story
I attended SFA for two year only -- Sep 1977-1978 Sep 1978 - 1979. I didn't have many friends because I was about 3 years older than the kids in my graduation class. I landed a job at Exxon with help from my VOE teacher, Mrs. Farmer and my councelor Mr. Leonard Rice and am still working there to date (30 years! I can't believe it!)
If you remember any of these teachers, then we probably attended SFA during the same time frame.
I also recall I had MR. Griswold for my Government/Economics class and Mrs Farnetti was my Spanish teacher. Those are the only ones I remember. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper at SFA! The age difference was a bummer. I was almost 21 when I finally got to graduate. I think Mrs. Farnetti was like 23 or 24. I remember we were close in age. But, as luck would have it, I graduated in the top 10% of my class. The only reason I was so far behind was because I was an Army bratt. M...Expand for more
y folks moved around a lot from country to country. I eventually had to settle on English although Flemish was may native tongue (Belgium). I remember two good friends I had, Rosemary (I think her last name was Lopez but I don't know for sure) The other one was Marcella Torres. She was already married at the time although she didn't have any children. I also was married to a photographer - J.Lopez (what an idiot he turned out to me -- I really regretted marrying him!!)
So, if any of this sounds a wee bit familiar, drop me a line. My "married" name in school was Jeanne Lopez. I was kind of dorky looking. But was also the only high-school student who did not live with a parent - I had my own apartment which I could afford with my part-time job that paid me about $500 a month. I can't believe I was paying about $300 in rent at that time. I remember my utility bill (electric only) was like $6 bucks! Go figure!
