Life
After the JVHS experience... I moved to Port Hueneme, CA. Finally joined the Navy in 1996, as a reservist. Life continued to happen. After 9/11/01, I came back to the Navy on Active Duty...didn't want to wait for activation. From '96 until '01 I was back and forth between Port Hueneme and San Diego. On New Year's Day of '02, I was packed up, with orders in hand to Gulfport, MS. I went to NMCB 74. Deployed to Kuwait in October of the same year...then to Iraq, then back to Gulfport. I recommend Rota to anyone looking to have a good time, and see some beautiful sights. About a week prior to deploying to Japan, I got my orders in to be a Recruit Division Commander. Basically, a drill instructor, but for the Navy. I've been in Chicago (well, Great Lakes) since July 2005. I love my job, but I can't wait to get back to Gulfport.
November 2008, I transferred back to MS. I'm on my second tour to Afghanistan in less than three years, and I'll be transferring back to Cali (thank God) a couple of months after our reunion.
