Jeannie's Story
Well let's see, guess I'll tell you where I am now then tell you how I got here. My husband Rory and I live in the beautiful mountains of southwest Wyoming about 70 miles south of Jackson Hole. We've been married now 21 years and counting. We have 5 wonderful grandsons, oh yeah, their moms and dads too. The boys are a whole lot more fun most days.
Rory drives shuttle truck to Salt Lake 5 to 6 nights a week, for Sysco. I am lucky enough to get to stay home and be wife mom and gramma.
I do have an ebay store, (grannystreasureroom.com) to help fill my spare time(yeah right). Actually this little hobbie has turned into a nice little business and it incorporates everything I love to do. Plus one of my products, (STOOL SAMPLE), made it on Jimmy Kimmell Live in March of this year and it kinda exploded for a while.
We have a wonderful life and family here in the heart of Star Valley Wyoming, (GOD'S COUNTRY). We both would like to connect with a few old friends, and see what they are up to these days.
Let's see
1980--Had beautiful baby girl
got married got divorced
went wild for a while
1982--Had beautiful baby boy
went wild for a wild(yeah I'm a heathen)
1986--Met man of my dreams, GOT MARRIED
KICKED AROUND ALBION AND BURLEY A WHILE
1991--Moved to Wyoming--BEST THING EVER 4 US
--Me and the kids got baptised
1993--Rory adopted kids
--Sealed in Idaho Falls Temple
1995--Rory got CDL started driving longhaul
I dispatched for same company and we got to go across the country several times, dreamed of team driving, but the future was to bring an end to that.
1997--Became heathens again(yes both of us)
1999--Boug...Expand for more
ht our home in Afton, Wyoming
--I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis
For a couple of years we thought all our dreams were going to go with the team driving, but we eventually figured out a different path for our future, and we've settled in, so to speak, to a very comfortable life. We love to camp, and Rory loves his 4-wheeler. I'm afraid our grandkids are gonna kill themselves trying to do what Papa does, he's still a little crazy.
Basically we haven't done anything exciting over the last few years, just trying to adjust to this new world we live in, protecting my family, and supporting my boys and their families, while they serve in Iraq.
Both boys are home right now, and I hope they don't have to go back anytime soon. We are patiently awaiting the birth of our 6th grandson, be here in July.
We are kind of homebodies unless we have our camp trailor. but we have an awesome house with a game room, (Rory had to have pool table and bigscreen). I added a WII.
And we have a bar and patio for parties with Rory's famous dutch oven cookin, so we don't really need to go anywhere. We love parties, and it doesn't matter what kind or for who, or what.
The really cool thing about our house is we've done all the work ourselves, and took a 50 year old cinder block house with fallout shelter in basement, and made it awesome. Not to mention have a nice nest egg on good property. Real Estate here is EXTREME.
We're not rich and famous, but we're happy, and after-all that's what really counts.
All-in-all I'd have to say we are very blessed, our many blessings include: our boys, our kids, our home, and the love there in.
