Jeff's Story
Wow, my story huh?!? Well, Classmates knows how to motivate someone to write one. I took the easy way out (multiple choice sound familiar?) and clicked on the boxes under interests. Then, I'd pull up my profile and the ones Classmates would post under interests were "cats, reading, & crafting....now, how "gay" is that? Not that being gay would be bad, it just wouldn't be me! Hence the story.
For one thing, I don't own a cat, the cat owns me (just ask the cat). I have a black lab that is my best bud and had a chocolate lab to keep him company, but had to put her down (14 years is pretty good for a deaf, blind lab but I still shed a tear or three).
I live in a small cabin on a mountain on a little over 8 acres in Fairview, NC (about 12 miles southeast of Asheville heading toward Lake Lure). My neighbor is Gladys Knight (yes, as in The Pips) although her spread is a tad bigger and much nice...Expand for more
r. Hell, her Provost bus she parks by the Garren Creek bridge is worth more than my house - lol!
I've worked my way up the career ladder (at least that's what "they" say) to the Chief of a small Public Safety Agency (21 officers) and long for the days I just drove around these beautiful mountains in a patrol car (my old Sheriff's Department days) and busted bad guys (versus dealing with budgets and personnel). Uh, was it the U S Department of "They" or which "them" was it that said this was advancement?!? Oh well, at least I'm eligible for full state retirement in January 2011 (happy, happy, joy, joy).
Guess I'll then let my hair (what's left) grow out into dreadlocks....and transform this "hippie trapped in blue polyester" into the real granola deal! Hell, I may even drive Gladys' big ass Provost bus for her....at least I wouldn't have far to walk to work!
Peace out, home chickens!
