Jeff's Story
Life
Since graduating from CHS my life has changed dramatically. I can sincerely say I have been blessed in every way. I found out that life has great purpose beyond money, career, and personal pleasure.
I have been married since 1984 and have two daughters, Katie (21) and Amanda (18). We live in south San Jose. I have dual careers. I am currently working in industry as a program manager and I'm also an ordained minister. I spend most of my free time offering marriage and premarital counseling.
Although I pretty much wasted the latter part of my high school years, I have fond memories of my former classmates, and grew a lot from my experiences with them. I sincerely hope my old friends remember me as someone who wanted to be a true friend.
What have people forgotten about me?
I imagine most people have forgotten that it was me that tried to tell everyone that our senior beach party had been planned for a nudist beach. People just would not listen. As you will recall, we ended up moving the party to another beach after seeing a few nude bodies wandering the surf.
If I could have one do-over it would be take high school more seriously, work harder at studying, get more involved in activities, and avoid the drinking and drugs.
College

eering degree. I failed almost immediately. I was totally unprepared for it. I had no idea how to study. So, I dropped out after one year.
I then got a job and started attending night school at De Anza College continuing toward an engineering degree. I went to De Anza, Foothill, and West Valley off and on for about 4 years. I quit altogether after our first child was born. Work and family became the priority.
In 1996, with a wife and two children at home, I decided to go back to school. This time I decided to pursue something I was really interested in. Having been ordained the year before my interests had changed. I enrolled in San Jose Christian College (now William Jessup University) and got dual degrees in Bible and Theology & Christian Leadership.
Workplace
I dropped out of college after my freshman year because I really was unprepared. I immediately began working at Varian Associates where my father worked for many years (he gave them 37 years). In 1995, Varian sold our part of the business and we became Communications & Power Industries. During the past 27 years I have worked as an assembler, furnace operator, senior electro-mechanical technician, product analyst, government property manager, fleet manager, and risk & insurance manager. Today I am a program manager for several communications products for both commercial and military markets.
