Jeff's Story

If you knew me I was either camping, playing drums with Scott A., David L., Vinny P., Joel G. or hanging out with Alan G. I attended Monmouth college in Sept 74, split to Boston to explore life, went back to Monmouth in 1975 and subsequently graduated in 1978 with a degree in Biology and marine sciences. I worked as a Marine scientist grub collecting useless information until I got a position with Sloan Kettering Cancer hospital in NY sacrificing innocent mice for the sake of humans. Maybe not an even trade! I started a masters in Virology at Rutgers thinking I could save the world from disease (without killing rodents). One morning, going into the city, it dawned on me that I really liked mechanical things, so I quit work and went back to school for a B.S. in Mechanical engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University, in beautiful NJ. I got married when I was 23, so that's now almost 30 years of bliss, the first thirty is the hardest! I have two wonderful boys, Devin and Chase, 19 and 13 respectively. One in college at Highpoint University, NC and the other in seventh grade. What was I thinking~!~ , same wife too!! I have been in the engineering business for 26 years and am the V.P. of engineering and product management for a window hardware company in Connecticut. Not...Expand for more
exactly saving the world, but that will come, and it's been a good ride. On the side, I am working on a mission project to supply a water filtration system to third world countries, starting in the Dominican republic. One life at a time. Spare time (mostly non existant, like most) I spend attending hockey games around the New England area with my 13 year old NHL determined (delusional) goalie son. I am still acting like a youngster riding motorcycles, restoring and racing sports cars at Limerock, and camping in the areas around connecticut and New England. I have also been involved in several mission trips building houses for needy people in rural areas in Maine and the Dominican Republic. I ran an average 12-15 miles a week from 1977 until about 2 years ago (knee blowout), but have continued to do physical stuff all along. Currently playing racquet ball and speed walking (if you call it that). My mom passed two years ago, but my dad is still going strong at 86, and my bro is teaching at Western Connecticut State, winding down somewhat though. I still keep in touch with a few friends from school, but would love to hear from you if you choose. I find life is turning out to feel too short, so go for what ever it is you desire before it slips away from you. Peace, Jeff
