Jeff's Story
Life
Received one hell of and education in the US Army. Held executive positions with prestigious engineering firms. Traveled around the US. Lived in many different states and everyday has been an incredible learning experience for me. I currently enjoy my two cats and I was working at a local motorcycle dealer in Amityville and drag bike racing on the weekend. The company went out of business after 11 years, I was lucky enough to find employment with another motorcycle company in New Hyde Park where I have been working since October 2009.
College
Although I attended Nassau Community College I did not graduate, I ran out of VA Money and left to join the work force. I wish I had graduated and gone on to get a four year degree but i did not. I do not regret it but it would have been nice. I was very fortunate that this was never a factor in my work experience, I was able to sell myself on skill and talent alone.
Workplace
I spend many years work...Expand for more
ing for Engineering Consulting Firms, in the Aerospace, Nuclear and Electronic fields. When the bottom fell out of these industries I opened my own business, a Motorcycle Shop dealing with Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. I has been a blast and I had a lot of fun and met a some great people along the way. I am currently living in Maryland and working for a performance manufacturing company and really enjoying it. There are 5 drag strips within 1 hour driving distance and this is great, a racers dream.
Military
I was drafted in 1965 and was sent to Vietnam where I spent
1 year in HELL. I was with the First Engineering Battalion assigned to the First Infantry Division. Vietnam was quite an experience for a 19 year kid who thought he knew it all, wow was I wrong, this was unreal. Fortunately for me and my family I survived. I spent the remaining couple of months of my military career at Fort Devins Massachusetts. I was honorably discharged in 1967.
