Jeff's Story
Life
I grew up in Fountaintown, Indiana and attended elementary school there through 5th grade. I moved to Wanamaker and started 6th grade. I left Indiana on New Year's Day 1977 (right after the first semester of my sophomore year at FCHS) and moved to Arizona. After high school I moved to the Phoenix area where I worked and attended college.
In 1990 I moved to beautiful San Diego, California. I started a very successful retail store there in 1995 selling clothing, paper, construction material, cosmetics, food and other goods made from hemp fiber and hemp seed oil. After 10 years I closed the store to do part-time transactions on eBay.
I've been involved in broadcasting ever since 8th grade when I was doing the Radio Club show on WSMJ in Greenfield. These days I host a weekly show featuring old-time music on an online radio station called World Wide Bluegrass. My show is "Bluegrass...Expand for more
Roots And Branches" and can be heard every Wednesday evening at 8pm EST. I also do narration and voice-overs and occasionally do M.C. work and promotions for festivals and concerts.
You can find me on MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn and Plaxo. On those sites you'll find links to my radio show website and also the online station where I work.
I'm single (never married) with no children. I play the 5-string banjo and enjoy going to bluegrass festivals, traveling, camping, hiking and sports - especially the Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Steelers, Boston Celtics and INDIANA HOOSIERS!!!
I often think back to those great days at Wanamaker Elementary, Franklin Township Junior High and good ol' FCHS and wonder what happened to all my good friends there. I had some of the best times of my life cutting up in class and hanging out with friends. Those were special days and I'll cherish them forever.
