Jeff's Story
Class of 82.! Hello..
Last I saw most of you was the 10 year Reunion. I remember seeing everyone had it all figured out.., College was over and Careers were started. I on the other hand had served 6 years in the Navy in San Diego in the Submarines service. During our 10 year reunion I was in the midst of transferring into Fresno State in the Fall of 92. I graduated 3 years later at the end of the Fall semester of 95 with a bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying Engineering.
I lived all over Los Angeles from one job to another but my true passion for years was sailing and my sailboat was moored in Channel Islands in Oxnard.
My career choice, Land Surveying, hasn’t changed only my location, Lake Isabella CA. I sold my boat a decade ago on the hope of purchasing a larger boat, that never happened. I do miss Los Angeles I h...Expand for more
ave a lot of great memories there, but I don’t miss the traffic.
Today I have my own business, but I still do contract work for several of the companies that I used to work with. I still and always will love sailing but its not the same sailing on someone else’s boat.
If you don’t remember me from Burroughs that’s okay., I hardly remember it either. I was born and raised in Ridgecrest but started on Chinalake base, like a lot of you did. I lived on Rowe Street and attended both grade schools, (Viewig and Groves), in alternating years.
For Junior High I attended Murray then Monroe.
The odds are high that we shared a class or two.
If inspiration hits drop a note and say hello.
Cheers,
Jeff
