Jeffrey's Story
For those that might be curious... I'm doing well, and enjoying life. After high school I ended up working with various local companies, they were mostly temporary assignments, though I eventually landed a long term assignment with Genentech Inc. I was there for seven and a half years, working patent litigation and eventually landing a permanent position in Regulatory Affairs; which was not a good fit, I resigned to further my education. While finishing up my AA, I got into web design and graphic arts, which landed me a job at Oracle in RWC for about a year as an admin for two VP's in charge of 11i and OTS, ITCRM. The graphic arts led to Animation, Film, and Television. I transfered to SFSU into their Art/Cinema Dept, but quickly changed majors to Broadcasting Electronic Arts Communication (BECA), with an emphasis in Production and Animation. During my senior year I interned with the Mythbusters on Discovery Channel, doing research, location scouting, myth prep and clean-up; great bunch of people to work for! Also, while in an advanced video course, with the help of many students, and twenty thousand dollars worth of equipment, I created a short video/film that won a few awards, AEGIS Award, and best documentary at SFSU; 2007. It can be viewed on Youtube, just type in 'Living History.' The couple that is in the video are great friends of mine, and we share similar hobbies, which is how we met.
Strangely, after graduating, I've been thrust in front of the camera more than doing work behind it. Two years ago Ed Archer was hired by Coquette Productions for use of his 1906 Locomobile, he suggested I come along dressed 1911, to which David Arquette was the director as well as acted in it. David, Jaime Lemons (the producer) and costumer director liked me so much they put me in the film right then and there. The film is titled, 'The Butler's In Love'; though I'm not listed in the credits, I'm clearly seen during the time change walking down the street with a lady in front of a Victorian home (1198 Fulton) in San Francisco, which cuts to a closeup of myself; it can be seen on Youtube as well. It was great meeting them, being involved, and partying with them once it premiered.
That year, I was also lucky to land a small part in David Fincher's three time Academy Award winning film, 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons;' starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton. I answered an add on Tribe.net and was hired! I was never on-set in New Orleans, but added later digitally by Matte World Digital, a subsiderary of ILM; though, I was in New Orleans th...Expand for more
ree weeks earlier for a cousins wedding. If you go to Matte World's website you can see all the CGI they did for the film and if you look closely a lot of the men in the scene's are me, just dressed differently! LOL I found myself 4:18 seconds into the film. Two years ago I was a Production Assistant for the Food Network on a show titled, 'The Private Chef's of Beverly Hills;' the pilot was shot in San Francisco; and they moved the production down south. Grueling work that shoot was, 74 hours in four days!
Lately, I landed a leading role in Indigo Films/TV for Investigate Discovery's (ID) Channels 'I Almost Got Away With It;' which will air sometime in late Oct. 2010. I was also in Bennett Miller and Columbia Picture's new Brad Pitt, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jonah Hill film titled, 'Moneyball;' I was on set four days and I'm seen behind home plate and throughout the stands; which is coming out in 2011. I was in five episodes of NBC's Trauma as a background artist; unfortunately the nextwork cancelled the show as of May 20, 2010; great fun working with that cast and crew. I was cast for the pilot episode of 'Facing Kate,' starring Sarah Shahi, which might be picked up by USA, or just moved to be shot in Vancouver. I was on the Antiques Roadshow when they filmed last year in San Jose during the feedback booth segment; it aired recently, May 10th. Lastly, I've been in a couple of independent films: one titled, 'Juko's Time Machine,' by UCLA's Kai Berry, and two others from the Academy of Art, 'Dark Desert Highway,' and 'One Wrong Move;' by Trent Thompson.
So, I'm still looking for steady work, and some times doing construction on the side; glamourous life, huh? LOL I'm still single, and I'm sure mostly because of my lack of continuous employment that leaves me to this solitary life of an artist. Though I would eventually like to have kids one day, I realize that may never materialize. Maybe that will all change one day.. Here's to wishing, and I wish you all well!
Cheers,
Jeffrey (Jeff)

Since writing this I've done many commercials, worked with Joaquin Phoenix and Phillip Seymour Hoffman (RIP) on Paul Thomas Anderson's 'The Master.' Nicole Kidman, Clive Owen, and Robert Duval on Phillip Kaufman and HBO's 'Hemingway and Gelhorn.' And most recently HBO's 'Silicon Valley season 2 pilot. 'San Andreas' with Ioan Gruffudd and Dewayne "The Rock" Johnson, and a couple of weeks ago with Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet on 'Steve Jobs,' due out very soon. Nice to see everyone at the impromptu 30 year gathering at St. James Gate!
