Jeff's Story
Life is good! Came to Willits 25 years ago. This was a promotional move from Santa Clara. I worked for and retired from CDF, now known as CalFire. I had the experience of fighting fires throughout Cal.. My wife retired for real in 2012. We enjoying traveling and usually take several trips a year. I've been doing quite a bit since retiring (13 years) even spent a couple of years driving school bus. Currently am volunteering with the local senior center. The rest of the time involves; hanging out, chilling with friends and trying to understand when do I get to the retirement part. Future plans, besides travel thought of a winter place. Winters aren't as enjoyable as in the past and Arizona is a possibility. We purchased a winter home. We bought in the planned community created by Del Webb- this was his original development in Sun City, AZ- about 10 miles from Phoenix but it is total city, no desert between. It offers us a very affordable life style with 8 complete rec centers with pools. We intend to spend winter retiring and going to spring training baseball games. The Sun City move puts us 400 miles closer to the grandkids that live in Hesperia and Corona. That is pretty good for updates- we are taking two 'vacations' in the near future- Going to Ire...Expand for more
land and Costa Rica- that is some pretty good extremes. High point of vacation last year was winning the Denali Road Lottery and getting to drive 90 miles back in to Denali Park in Alaska. Life is good, will update site when I next check---but what about #50 class reunion????
Only real update is that we are one year into our 5 year plan- Probably be out of California by then. We had a great time in both Ireland and 2 weeks in Costa Rica. This year it is to Scotland and a different trip to Russia.
Got alot of space left so here is an update which is good for me as I can read where I have been. Latest travel trips (maybe the only thing that might be exciting to others) is a trip to Copper Canyon in Mexico-it is where the Tarahumara indians live. Dis an enjoyable cruise back to Alaska. After the #50 reunion will be doing a Panama Cruise trip and end it with a 3day pass at Disneyworld.. Only other (actually there is more) excitiment was watching the SF Giants play at both ATT and Chase Field think they lost both times!
See all of those that attend the #50 reunion- the big thing is will I remember without having the annual with me-no I'm not buying a reprint. Life is good and hope the same for anyone that actually reads down to here.
