Jeff's Story
This "story" was originally part of an email to a old friend. Since I'm lazy when it comes to writing this kind of stuff, I realized that it would work here as well. I hope that my friend will understand.
I have been in Olympia, Washington for the last 30 years. I love having the mountains and the ocean so close. I lived in Colorado prior to coming here. It was wonderful, but once I discovered Washington, I realized that I had to be near the ocean.
After LCHS, I headed to Ball State and spent 4 years dodging the draft. I managed to get a diploma while I was there and became a teacher. I enjoyed college life, so I decided to attend grad school at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and picked up a Master's Degree in education.

ed, eventually getting married to a new friend, getting divorced from that friend but raising a wonderful daughter together.
I have been teaching elementary school for most of my years here in Oly. I worked for a year at a school for Native Americans, and spent a year teaching in a public alternative school. For the next 11 years, I was head teacher at a small (25 kids and 2 teachers) private alternative elementary school. Not much $ but the best job in Washington. Now I teach 5th grade at Pioneer Elementary for the Olympia School District.
I currently live in the cabin that you can see in my pictures with my friend Suzanne, my Old English Sheepdog Wally and his arch enemy, Basil the cat. My daughter just recently graduated from the University of San Diego and now begins looking for a job. I'm glad that I'm not in her situation. Jobs are tough to find these days.
