Jeff's Story

After High School I attended Memphis State University and attended Waring Road Baptist Church. There I met Sandra. We were married and attended Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas, TX. We served as evangelists for several years after graduation until her home going Christmas Day 1979. Soon I returned to school and met Pam. We were married Valentines weekend 1983 and I graduated from Liberty Bible College that May then. International Bible Seminary followed that. We pastored our first church in Auburn,IN in 1986. For over 20 years I've pastored small independent mission type churches in Northern,Indiana/Southern Michigan. We were definately touched by the Toronto/Brownsville move in the mid'90s. It can be said our son Andrew cut his teeth on the church seats during years of revival meetings. The most unique and controversial thing we did was the years we had an outreach to the Amish called Amish Youth For Jesus. We targeted the Amish like any other people group and used the same mission te...Expand for more
chniques that would be used on any other unreached people group. Because we were the first to do many of the things we did some called me the Apostle to the Amish. We organized what became two groups of former Amish as "nationals" or "native workers" to continue so they could become an "indigenous" move of their own. Among the things we did was mail gospel tracts written especially for Amish with the help of former Amish to most homes in every Amish district in the United States and many in Canada. Two of our tracts were written in "Pennsylvania Dutch" Most of my ministry I've worked on the side doing loss prevention and both armed and unarmed security jobs. Presently I'm still on a semi-sabbatical following some health issues and a bad accident. Looking back, I did enjoy playing oboe (and bass drum/tamberine during marching season) and throwing shot put and discus. Being Junior Class President was a blast also though it cured me of any political aspirations. Love to hear from any of you guys!
