Jeff's Story
For years I resisted doing this and most people probably feel the same, hell I never even went to a reunion event. I think we spend so much of our earlier years trying to get it all to work, trying to make a living, experimenting with marriages (it takes a couple to get it right), and raising kids, that we forget the years when we were all basically the same. And we were. But now we're profoundly different. But we came from the same place and that's cool. It's nice to hear from old friends, and if they're really friends then it's a pretty short list.
After HS I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps, was stationed a while in Japan but spent most of my time in California. Met my current wife back then but when I asked her to marry me she said no. Go figure. So it wasn't until 15 years later that we actually mar...Expand for more
ried and it's worked ever since. We each have a daughter from a previous but never had any kids together.
Never finished college because I had a daughter to support and was too busy working. For 28 years now I've been managing stock and options trading risk for stock brokerage firms. And today I design software used by brokerages and banks to manage options and speculative trading activities. I've lived all over the country chasing this business, from LA and San Francisco to Denver (twice), Dallas, San Antonio, Austin of course, and now Boston. I traveled to India three times for about 6 weeks a trip working with developers there. And we hit the Caribbean whenever we can find the time and money.
It's been a wild ride and I hope I die before I get old, no sense in being the last one to leave the party.
