Life Personal: Graduate of Texas A&M University (BBA–Accounting). Married with three children and lives in Alexandria, VA. Both he and his wife are very active in the local public schools and various other education related entities. Also coached both his sons teams and is a member of DCBIA, ULI, and ICSC. Daughter to attned Clemson in Fall 09. Business: Presently, owner of URBAN-city Ventures, LLC , a real estate developer in Washington, DC. Largest project currently is master planning and development of a 3M+ sf mixed-use project 1 mile south of US Capitol (aka Poplar Point Place). Also co-founder of Heavy Equipment Training Acedemy (HETA), a training school to help un(der)employed learn how to operate heavy equippment. Previously: In 1999, founded Sidewalk Development Advisors, LLC to provide institutional developers with the vision, understanding, and personnel means to actively participate in the greatest residential revolution since development migrated to the suburbs over fifty years ago. As principal (JWE Development, LLC), Mr. Epperson has developed both apartment and retail buildings in the city of Washington, DC. Among better known projects is the renovation of 1600 U Street, NW in 2002 where Starbucks opened their first neighborhood store east of Connecticut Ave, NW and remains one of the top non-downtown performers in the entire chain.
