Jeffery's Story
Life
Well, moved to Houston Texas in 74 and wish I could have stayed and graduated at Richmond Hts. My dream was to go to Ohio State and play football. Went to a school that had over 2500 kids in it was a major shock to me. Played football and had some great opportunities to go college and play football but was stupid and went to work instead. I had a 4 year free ride to Rice University to play football but with didn't take it. Wow was I a IDIOT. I started working in the Automotive field out of high school and then moved into the chemical industry after that working in most of the large chemical plants surrounding the Houston area. I bought a house in Humble Texas and partied and worked for a few years until I met my wife Dellana in 82. She shackled the ball and chain to my leg in 83 and have been married for almost 27 years March 09. Had my son Jeff Jr. in Sept. 84. Went back into the automotive field and was givin a chance to work up in the Dallas area and took it in 86. Bought a house in 88 in Arlington which in in the middle of Dallas and Fort Worth and have been living in this money pit ever since. My son Jeff is 25 years old 6'5" and went to The Incarnate Word college in San Antonio playing baseball and has his degree Meteorology. I guess he wants to be a storm...Expand for more
chaser. I want him to sign a baseball contract so I can retire(LOL). I just want him to be sucessfull as he has and made the deans list the past few years. I am now out of the automotive field and have been working as an equipment mgr. on a private golf course 11 miles from my house for the last 11 years. What more of a dream job could you have working on a golf course and love the game of golf. 7/08 update My son is now playing pro baseball with the Grand Prairie Airhogs and the team is local so I can watch him play but he has moved back in the house which is fine with me. 6/2010 Jr is now playing baseball in Laredo Texas this year and out of the house for a few months. I am lucky to have raised a great kid. 11/10 My son is now done playing here in Texas and is now playing winter baseball in Melbourne Australia. He will be returning to Texas around March and then hook up with a team here in the states somewhere. I hope he gets some looks down under so maybe he can be picked up by a MLB team. 1/4/11 My son was picked up by the pro team Melbourne Aces in Melbourne Australia and has been doing great so things are looking up for him. 2/13 Still kicking & working, guess I'll be working until they close the lid. Anyone up here in the Dallas Forth Worth area, hit me up.
