Jeffrey's Story
Life
After high school, I joined the Marine Corps. For the next 23 years, I had the opportunity to visit nearly 70 countries. I loved Australia, Europe and Asia. Hated Africa and the Middle East. Tolerated Central and South America.
The Marine Corps gave my family and I a chance to see how others live and have a much greater appreciation for our lives here in the United States.
I am a logistician by trade. I currently work as a logistics manager for a computer corporation in San Diego.
I have 3 children ages 21, 23, and 25. I became a grandfather in June, 2002 (damn, am I that old?).
I would love to hear from all gratuates from RUHS class of 1975.
School
What can one say about being a high school student in the 1970s? It was anything and everything. The culture of the U.S. was changing from that of our parents in the 1950s. Viet Nam was going on, the protestors were out in force, and sex, drugs, and rock ...Expand for more
and rolled ruled the times.
RUHS was in with the times, and was as laid back as you can get. I enjoyed those times as they happened, but would not want to do them over.
I look forward to the reunions to see that I am not the only one who has changed over the years.
Workplace
I am in logistics (transportation and warhouse) management for a fortune 500 company in San Diego.
Military
I served 23 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. This time was probably, the best in my life. My family and I had a chance to visit over 20 countries and experience all of the wonderful cultures of each.
I had my hardship tours, Beruit (1983), Persian Gulf War (1990 to 1991), and Somalia (1992 to 1993 and 1994, to 1995).
These tours tought me the most about team work, comradarie, discipline, and all that it takes to survive on the battlefield, in business, and life in general.
It builds your character, maturity level, and self esteem.
