Jeffrey's Story
Life
First of all I didn't realize I have to pay to contact people or read messages anyone might care to post. I tried to post my e-mail address, but that is not permitted, so, if anyone can read this, go ahead.
Otherwise you can contact me more directly by following these directions, type in my last name backward followed by jeff all in small letters and no spaces. After that do the yahoo thing.
Well, I guess someone tried to find something out about me, but there wasn't anything here. I am now living in Japan and teaching at a university... I actually got to be a college professor, with tenure!!! They also just made me a full professor, very unusual in Japan. I think being tall and blonde had something to do with it. Ah, the Japanese...
Anyway, I teach in English and my Japanese is rotten... I won't go into the details, even though I am the only foreign faculty member in my school (not the whole university), but almost the whole university outside of the foreign language center, and nearl...Expand for more
y all of the language teachers are on temporary contracts. I guess I was in the right place at the right time, or maybe the opposite because now I am stuck here. I live in Tokyo and commute an hour and a half to work... but school is only 3 or 4 days a week and goes for about 3 months each in two semesters.... that is about it. I would love to retire and return to Oregon.
What is really strange is that I thought I had escaped Ontario pretty much for good, but the son of Tom Koyama, class of '68 is now studying in my department, International Studies, at the university. Anyway, it is a small world, stay somewhere long enough and you'll be found out, even if it is in a remote school in the suburbs of Tokyo.
Well, enough about that. The best things I have done in the past several years are study art in Italy and set up an AIDS orphan care volunteer program at my university... we go to Kwa Zulu Natal each year in February/March.
That is all, over an out. Oh yeah, no wife, no kids, no surprise.
