School
I can hardly believe it has been 20 years since we've graduated from high school. My freshmen year was a huge transition period, because after intermediate school I moved to Pearl City High School. To sum up my freshmen experience, I could always be found studying in the library during recess and lunch time.
Later, I moved to Waipahu High School beginning from my sophmore year and eventually graduating after a fun-filled senior year. A lot of memories back then, somethings I wouldn't change and others I would. There was a stint in band with the infamous Mr. Nomura, needlesstosay, I never lived up to his expectations and I decided to quit playing the trumpet for sports. I remember football practices twice a day, putting on smelly football pads, and later getting home in pain & being exhausted. I remember jamming music during school activities (like May day) with Steven, Bernard, and John. Our first ever paid gig at the Waiphau Jackrabbit carnival. After that John recruited me into the drama team and school plays (musicals). My humble beginnings ...
College
Didn't go to Seattle University like I had originally planned to study commercial art. This change of plans moved me to LCC on short notice. After receiving two associates degrees from LCC, I moved to UH and received my bachelor's degree in Urban & Regional Planning. Thanks to one of my associates degree in Drafting Technology I was able to work my way through college. I fondly remember my days at Hal...Expand for more
e Wainani "UH Manoa" with my roommates (Andy, Craig, David, and our odda roomies). Joined the Air Force ROTC at Det 175, and did a lot of charitable events with the program. A busy time in my life and a lot of changes and a lot of good and bad experiences...
Workplace
Drafting Technology paved the way for my college education. Thanks to Francis and Lito for fun filled days in drafting class. Also, mahaloz to Francis for re-hooking me up into the Architectural biz at PLA, if it wasn't for him a lot of things in my life would be different. I worked for several different architectural and engineering firms, working for about 2 years in one company and then moving on to the next. Met a lot of great and not so fun people along the way in this career field. Spent 8 years drafting full-time and then joined the military (I had the itch to serve like my Pops). I suppose my moving from one architectural and engineering company to the next every 2 years prepared me for my military career and the constant move every 2-3 years. I wouldn't change this part of my life, I just love to travel and if work pays for it then so be it.
Military
Been all over the world, but I still have places I'd like to visit. Been to Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Belgium, Bosnia, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, and Guam. As for the continental U.S., I've been nearly to every state for business and some R&R: the East Coast (New York, New Jersey, Maine, Virginia), West Coast (California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Utah), Mid-West (Chicago, Nebraska, Kansas), Southern States (Florida, Georgia, Arkansas), and the deep South (New Mexico, Texas, New Orleans, Alabama, Louisiana)... nuff said.
