Jeffrey's Story
High School was not the greatest time of my life. When you are fat and the brunt of jokes it does not make for an enjoyable environment.
Classmates that were my friends in elementary and junior high decided they preferred being tormenters. Fortunately I did have some friends that looked beyond my outer shell.
Today I truly feel sorry for my tormenters. They thought I was the loser, but now many of them have failed marriages and not a great life. I moved ahead and found that life is as good as you make it.
While a senior at Linden McKinley I started working part-time at Columbus Public Schools in Multi-Media Arts. I continued working for the school system part-time during my time at OSU.
In 1974 I accepted a full time appointment at Columbus Public Schools. Then I found many interesting opportunities within the school system.
I found my techie side (nerd) working with mainframe computer systems. I actually enjoyed programming and learning the different computer languages.

In the 1980's I got involved in Electronic Form Design and CAD. I designed many of the electronic forms that are still used by the school system.
In 2003 after 34 years of service I retired as the manager of Computer Operations.
One of my true loves is classical/church music. I have served many churches in the Columbus, Dublin and Westerville area as an organist and or choir director.
I have been out of the closet since college. My partner, Mike and I support many gay causes. We are extremely fortunate to have terrific friends around the world.
Mike and I have been partners for 17 years. We travel frequently. Two years ago we toured England and France. Last year we spent time with friends in Bar Harbor and North Yarmouth Maine. This summer it will be a relaxing time in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
I look forward to hearing from old classmates.
