Jennifer's Story

Let's see- We live in a suburb in the Phx., AZ area. We love it here. We have lived in Arizona now since 1992. I've been married to Steve for over 18 years and we have 3 wonderful kids (Andrew-16, Jake-9, and our princess Zoe is 6). I LOVE being a mom!! We have 2 dogs (Belle and Snickers) and a cat (Tia). This is my first cat and I absolutely LOVE her. She's so awesome. My dogs are fun too. They crack me up. They love to swim. Everyday, the dogs know when it's time to get in the pool. We've had to change the name of the "pool" because they get too excited when we talk about it. Right now, it's called the hole in the ground or the big peanut. Belle loves to dive for her torpedo. She jumps off the edge and goes under water to retrieve it. It's so fun to watch her.She has Aust.Shepherd and cattle dog in her so it's not like she's a lab or some other water loving dog Plus, She's a little overweight. Her eyes are open under water. She's trying to get to the bottom of the pool. She might make it. We'll see how the summer goes. Snickers likes to stand on the lagoon step and then do a little lap around the pool. He'll come out and kind of greet us like he's just kind of checking in and cooling off all at the same time. It's fun. I enjoy being in the pool relaxing with the kids and watching the dogs. It's also a great way to forget how hot it really is. Your blood thins out when you are out here (AZ) long enough. I now freeze when it's in the low 70's. We're babies!!We need a cabin in Flagstaff for the summer. I was an independent contractor doing bookkeeping/office manager, but just recently quit my job after being there for over 7 years. YEA!!!! I'm so happy to not be working. Steve is an estimator. He bids on jobs around town. He really enjoys his job.He just started estimating about a year ago and has done really well with it. We are very thankful. I'm excited about all the possibilities of being home now. The kids are liking it too. I'm so grateful and so happy to be able to be home. Quitting my job was probably one of the mos...Expand for more
t rewarding days I've had. I was so happy. My heart was happy. I needed that change for so long but was afraid to do it. Thanks to Steve's job, I was able too. It was a relief to be able to quit. My boss appreciated me and all my hard work. They trusted me very much. It was hard to tell them, however, I knew they would be just fine. The owner's son is learning the business. It's good. I have some really dear friends in the area. The move out to this side of town has been a great move. We use to live on the east side, now we are on the west side. Our old area is over an hour away and that's if traffic is going pretty smooth. We miss some things about the east side however I would never give up my friends to move back to that area. I don't know if I've been this happy/content/satisfied with my life ever? When we had the kids, It was amazing and rewarding, however SUPER SCARY!!! I'm not scared anymore. My kids are good. They are amazing people. They are so neat. Their different personalities are so interesting. It's fun. Zoe is a sassy girl with her brothers. She can argue with them. They forget she's only 6. It's funny to hear her tell Andrew what he needs to do. Little mother. Her brothers are good to her most of the time. They are nice people, my kids, and I want them to stay that way. We have had some tough times. We've struggled together and hung on and have made it through. It was not easy. Life is not easy at times. I do feel if you do the best that you can do and be honest and true to yourself, you will be okay. Life has really sucked at times. I knew I was going through everything for a reason. I hung on and fought through it. I read this saying awhile back and have it in our office - If God brings it to you, He'll bring you through it. I truly believe that. We got through it and are really okay. We're better than before. It all worked out perfectly. I feel very blessed and fortunate. I feel lucky. I have a loving husband and 3 wonderful kids. I like my life even with the ups and downs. There's never a dull moment.
