as of May 2014, I have just completed a 2 1/2 year battle with a fairly rare & aggressive type of breast cancer. so very thankful to finally be on the victorious end of this! :) after HS, I attended both the Univ. of Texas in Austin and Oxford Univ. in England. studied many things, but finally decided upon a major in English with a History minor. met my future husband, David, in the first week of school at UT. our first date was his fraternity semi-formal, and we are still together over 30 years later. I was a Little Sister, President of Little Sisters, and then Sweetheart of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, where he was the Social Chairman. as David entered the PGA after graduation, we moved to Florida before our first anniversary. we spent 10 years at various golf courses along the eastern coast of the state, where our 3 sons were also born. I spent my time either teaching or working at an English antique store. in 1997 a new golf course was opening in northeast Ohio and David was asked to be the general manager. we moved the week before Christmas, leaving the hot sands of Florida and arriving to multiple feet of snow. it was quite an adjustment for our family, but we love Ohio. the area is truly beautiful. after more than 25 years in the golf business, David decided to leave and enter the ministry. He is currently Director of a camp as well as Director of both Outdoor and Youth Services for our Church District. he oversees all of the youth pastors in our district, which comprises about 5 states. Our sons have grown into amazing men. they are all currently attending various colleges, studying biotechnology, zoology, and children's ministry. they have a love of all things nerdy and geeky, which most certainly comes from me! they all played in the marching band in HS (following after their father), but then were also involved in the show choir (there is my side again!). our youngest was even accepted into the world famous group, Up With People, (they have a membership o...Expand for more
