Life Hi This is Jennifer (Darling)(Romain)and now Lanphear! My husband is Gary Lanphear who is a Vietnam Veteran and served in Dau Tieng in 1968 during the Tet Offensive. Any of you Vets whom I have friended can contact Gary through me if you know him. As for me, I went to college for awhile after high school at several schools. However, I found that what I really yearned to do was to drive myself into a major stress attack by working for the telephone company (in the beginning...Michigan Bell) which then got blown to smithereens by Reagan and the Justice Dept.Isn't government interference wonderful?...So., I finally retired from there in 2008 not from a normal office job...Like an Operator (19 yrs at that...) or the Business Office...Nope, not Jen... For those of you who remember me well, you know that I've always been a little "lefthand bar" kind of person...I was an Large Business Installation/Repair technician and then moved on to a Construstion and Engineering technician and held a top craft job for (now) SBC/Ameritech...Nah...not anymore...Now we're at&t...AGAIN!!! Yes I climbed telephone poles... I was also a (now retired) Union Vice-President for the now defunct CWA Local 4039 (now CWA Local 4123) in Kalamazoo Mich which has been my home for the better part of 25 yrs. For those of you who remember, yes I still SING like crazy whenever I get the chance. I gave up on trying to find any musician who knew how to practice properly so now my husband Gary and I sing karaoke (best backup band I ever had...) and both of us have won a contest or two here and there all over the state of Michigan. It's fun but not a living. I have three children all grown up. Matt, 31, Molly 28, and Charley 27, who is now Corporal Darling-Romain United States Marine Corps! Mama is very proud of that child.He just got married to Kristen in July 2011 so no grandchildren yet...But they do have my grand dog Petey who si a deaf Jack Russell Terrorist... Matt, my oldest made me a Grandma in March of 2004. My grandson Ian will be 8 on March 11th.My daughter Molly is an LPN (working toward her RN) and has two sons Benjamin who will be 7 in March and Aiden who will be four in April.
