Jennifer's Story
Life
I live in Lynnwood, WA which is just north of Seattle. I love it here. It is so green and beautiful. I am married to a wonderful man, Aaron (who got the name "City" from Lee Lee at our last reunion). I have two beautiful girls, Jordan 6, and Ainslee 3. I live in a good ol' southern style neghborhood where everyone knows everyone and we all have a great time together (most neighborhoods are pretty stuffy around here because everyone drinks too much coffee). I have been very blessed.
School
I loved team tennis days....it was the one sport that Christine could not play and I would not be compared to her awesome abilities in other sports that I attempted. Believe me, I attempted, but just could not produce, but tennis I did well in, especially after moving I got set up with a pro in Washington and that made a world of difference in my game.
Graduated from Aberdeen High School where I was known as "TEX". It has been a long time since I have talked to anyone from Aberdeen. I think that the last person was "Brummy". Funny thing is, one of my crazy neighbors is from Aberdeen, Jeff Brooks.
College
Went to the University of Washington. My first year of college I played tennis for a community college. I was #4 singles and #1 doubles. Had a great time, but decided to hang up the racket, at least competetively and get an ...Expand for more
education and grow up. After transferring to the University of Washington, I stayed focused on a Psychology degree and pre-med. I wanted to go into Physical therapy....by the time I was done with school, I just wanted out and live a little (worked full time during school). And that is what I did....I lived my early twenties a little more in my mid twenties.
Workplace
Spent many years in the "eye" business in some manner. I worked for Lenscrafters moving up the ol' management ladder regionally when I started college and continued after. Then tried high tech recruiting during the dot com years and did well until 9/11 which burst the bubble here in the Seattle market. So I then went back to "eyes" and focused on pediatric opthalmology. Did that for a few years and then after the birth of my first daughter, Jordan, I had to leave because she was born with a heart condition and childcare was not an option. So thank goodness I married into a great family business. And have been doing that ever since. We are a manufacturers representative for copper wire, simple, but good. Funny thing is that our corporate office is out of McKinney, TX. It has been a great life and now my husband has joined the business after many years with T-Mobile. So it is great that we have the flexibilty to spend alot of time with our kids and family.
