Jennifer's Story
Well, I am not much of a writter, but since High School. I attended HCC and got my AA degree. I went to Concordia College with the intent to be a nurse, but discovered through service learning projects that I enjoyed teaching others and with lots of health credits, I changed my Major to Health Education. Concordia was great, but I wanted to be closer to home (Hibbing),so I transfered to UMD. I moved to Two Harbors, MN. I graduated in '99 with a Bachelors degree in Health Education. I couldn't find a teaching position. So I was a substitute teacher in Two Harbors, MN for a year and also worked at a gas station in Two Harbors to supplement my income. the grant funding was cut and I obtained a job with Blue Cross Blue Shield MN doing Customer Service in Duluth. In about 2 years I got a promotion with BCBSMN in Virginia, MN. I trainer for 3 years. Within that time I had a baby girl. Her name is Annika Grace. I was driving from Duluth to Virginia and got tired of that and it got too expensive, So I worked as a trainer for the Duluth Clinic business office for a year and then was laid off. My daughters Father and I split up last July after being together for 5 years. I have been raising my daughter and have had odd jobs, while looking for the right one.
