Jennifer's Story
Ok, here's the long and the short, and the long of it:
I did 2 years at Kish then finished at ISU majoring in Elementary Ed. I got married to Isaac Covert (a year ahead of us) 2 weeks after December graduation.
I used my degree to sub in DeKalb/Sycamore for a few months, then worked as a Kindergarten teacher in a Bright Horizons daycare center in Arlington Heights for 2 years.
Teaching in that environment just wasn't working for me, so for the next 2 years I worked for my uncle doing many things - office manager, shipping, sales -you name it.
I enjoyed it, but quit what turned out to be the day before our daughter was born. 14 months later our son came along (whoops!). So, here I am 3 houses and 11 years of marriage later; home with a preschooler and a full-day Kindergartener, looking at going back to outside work after being home for 7 years. Yikes!

nd all that that entails, I've been busy trucking into DeKalb to sing with an all women's chorus in Dekalb once a week. Twice a year we hold a concert, and at least one of them benefits a local cherity or non-proffit organization. This Spring I'm pleased to announce that our group will be performing a song I wrote called "Time Goes By."
I've always had tunes in my head, but have finally been dabbling in composition since last Fall with help from my "Finale" freeware. "Time Goes By" is my first major indevor, but I now have a love song (solo) and Christmas song (ensemble) ready to go - both complete with piano/drum kit and piano (respectively) accompaniment.
I also became a Daisy Girl Scout Leader this year and am having fun working with the girls.
Well, it doesn't sound like much, but I sure feel busy. It's the day-to-day stuff that makes time fly (and spending time on the computer . . .).
