Jennifer's Story
Life
I was born April 20th, 1972. I have an older brother and a younger sister. My parents divorced when I was six. I had a hard time socializing until I reached high school because financially, we subsisted at poverty level. My mother died when I was 15 and I went to live with my dad. My life immediately got a lot better. I had good clothes and great friends, and finally, a decent social life. I went to college in 1990. I spent time studying overseas in India as part of the Acting program I was in. I graduated from college and moved to California in 1997, where I'm currently leading an exciting life as an unemployed Quality Assurance Engineer and semi-employed actress. ;) I also have a fiance. College
College was fantastic. So many "firsts." I loved my English teachers but hated my acting teachers. I learned a lot, not only about the subjects I was studying, but about life in general. I even studied for a summer in India. I learned kalarippayattu and kathakali directly from famous gurus. I visited temples and palaces normally closed off to whites and westerners. Daksha and her dance troupe danced for us right on the roof of our house. I am so glad I went to college.
Since then, I've moved to California, worked in QA for the tech industry, quit my cubicle job, got married, went back to school to study exotic animal training and management, graduated with honors, and am now well on my way to starting my own non-profit wildlife education center.
