Jennifer's Story
Hey! Well, I have been in Laramie since 1986, so there must be something to love out here to put up with the cold and wind for so long. I met the love of my life fifteen years ago, and we have been married for fourteen years. Life has been great, and as we all know, very crazy. As I am sure you are experiencing the craziness as well. We begin by losing our grandparents, then our parents. My husband and I have experienced losing both sets of parents, and we are now focusing on our new grandbaby. She is beautiful and 18 months of age. When time permits, I will include some udated photos jus for kicks.
I spent way too much time in college and thought I wanted to teach, until I actually did it. I changed my other mind and decided to become a health inspector. I did that for about 10 years, when my Grandma began having mini strokes. We had to move her into our home when she was 99 years old. She fell and broke her hip, and required around the clock care. ob to take care of her. Since that time, we have had a Wyoming-made gift shop where I made all of the pottery for the shop, moved into a new home, and ran a campaign for my husband. He is now Sheriff of our County (Albany).
My husband's daughter has been battling cancer since January of 2010, and we are very hopeful that she has beaten it. We won't truly know for quite some time, but her last scan looked very promising. Three surgeries later and two radioactive iodine treaments later, she is doing very well. 2010 was a tough year!
I am still making pottery and selling locally to the gift shops, one in Encampment, WY, and to the Cheyenne Frontier Days Museum and Old West Store. That keeps me busy. In addition, I just moved my 92 year old Step-Dad from Florida to Wyoming after my Mom (his wife) passed away the day after the election. He requies daily visits, so that too keeps me busy.
Can't wait for our 30th reunion, and hoping most everyone can make it. I will update more later!
