Life
After graduating from Amelia High School in 2001, I went to Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio. I graduated June 11 with a B.A. in English Humanities. I am still with Neil, who you should remember if you remember me! He graduated with a B.A. in History.
I joined many clubs and organizations, including Student Government Association, Student Programming Board, and WomenÂs Forum, and I was a Resident Advisor. I was the Editor of the English Department Newsletter. I was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society in April of 2002, and was chosen for WhoÂs Who Among American College Students in April of 2004. I have done some editing work for a professor who published work about alternative religions. In January 2004, I was elected Runner Up Homecoming Queen of SSU. Upon graduating, I was named Outstanding English Department Graduate. I did a lot of volunteer work, including campaigning for John Kerry, living in a box on campus for two days to raise money for a homeless shelter, and educating students on breast cancer, domestic v...Expand for more
iolence, and campus safety. I worked at the campus library and the SSU Office of Communications.
In July of 2003, I traveled to England (London, Bath, Oxford, Brighton, Cheddar, Wells, Salisbury, Stonehenge and Birmingham) to study linguistics, then traveled on to Paris. In November and December of 2003, I traveled to London with Neil Reed, and he asked me to marry him in Trafalgar Square. Of course, I said yes! I headed back to London for a training session for my job at the end of July, and I stayed in Ealing.
Neil and I are back in Cincinnati living in a house he inherited, where we can be closer to our families and jobs. We plan to get married in May of next year. We plan to honeymoon in Europe and hope to visit London, Amsterdam and Edinburgh.
We both plan to take the GRE and apply to grad school soon. While I miss a couple of people from high school, getting out of this area for four years and growing up on my own was the best choice I ever made! Now I am back and catching up with old friends.
