Jennifer's Story
Remember AP Biology? The teacher said that statistically 75% of us would be married within five years of graduation. I didn't believe that would apply to me; I had no interest in settling down when there was so many places to learn about and see first hand.
Funny, SOMEONE had a sense of humor... I ended up meeting my husband at Disney World only a year later. We were married later that year on a road trips around Europe. We are supposedly one of the earliest foreign couple to be sealed in the East German LDS temple after reunification.
I have been lucky enough to be able to keep traveling, even as our family has grown. (The looks we get in airports has been awesome. They actually count the number of kids!) We are currently stateside, letting our five children detox... become less "expat" and more mainstream, before we jump back overseas next year. (We are ...Expand for more
getting back to Europe after a fifteen year hiatus.) They think the U.S. IS Disney World after having lived in Africa for several years and the Caribbean. They love America as much as their parents.
So to stay with the Disney theme, it really is "...A Small World After All..." I have run into a teacher from Mountain View, serving an LDS mission in Africa, who became like a grandparent to our kids. (This is the one who used to yell at us in the Drama/Art hallway to quiet down! See, Sense of Humor!)
We will also get to live within driving distance to a great friend from MV who now lives in Germany and who speaks better German than I do. So unfair since I lived there before her!!!
We have fed Peace Corps Volunteers and LDS missionaries from Utah, as we've lived all over. And we are constantly running into people in the strangest places... See ya around!
