I always thought i would be an artist. My plan, go to school, get a degree, live in NYC...get recognized and live happily-ever-after. I went a bit off track! My family did not think it was worth going to collage to get a degree in fine arts. So, i went from school to school trying out "sensible" majors, that would land a career. Dropped out, got a license for hair, got married when i was 22. went back to school, got my BFA from Tyler School of Art, and was pregnant with my first baby, as i received the long awaited diploma. So, 11 years later, i have raised my two girls (23 moths apart) and have done a great deal of volunteer work. (I am almost over that...one last major project). I believe that volunteer work is for the independently wealthy and the retired....of which, I am neither. So, the plan, build the portfolio, and get out there to earn a living. My husband has been more than patient for 15 years! Anyone need a part time designer...of anything? Life has been full of surprizes, good and bad......as my daughter enters the stage where the girls get mean....i can only tell her it is only the beginning! The only thing that changes, is how you learn to deal with it! All the hurt from 4th, 5th & 6th grade has come back, like it was yesterday..listening to her problems at recess.
