Jennifer's Story
Life
Shortly after HS I moved into my own little apartment which I loved to call my own. I met my current husband who actually graduated in '89 from Mckinney when he guest designed for a show I was Stage Managing in college. He went to Las Vegas to finish up his degree in Stage Management/Lighting Design and we had a 2-year long distance relationship. We survived and were married in Oct. '98 and have been happy ever since. We built a home in McKinney and moved off of Custer and Virginia Pkwy in Nov. '02. Jeff and I had our first baby September 19, 2006 and her name is Natalie. We are having a wonderful time being parents! We also have two rambuctious cats we call our little devils but are also named Kazaam and Zero, respectively. I haven't traveled very far, but I have lived in Hawaii and Colorado and have visited Washington, NY, DC, Florida and San Fran; all places I would love to visit again. I have been with EDS for over 11 years and am currently working in the Global Communications department supporting Public Relations and Community Affairs, loving my teams I support.
School
I stayed close to home school-wise. I went to CCCC for a couple of years, pursuing theatre and got my AA shortly. I then took a year off and...Expand for more
got married. In May of 2002, I finished school at UTD in Richardson and got my BA specilizing in Art and Performance.
College
There were 3 basic things I learned in college:
- My social security number
- It doesn't matter what you think, it's what the professors want you to think
- Research, research, research
I genuinely had a great time the last half of my college career. I focused all types of arts, theatre, phtography, painting, dancing, and it taught me how to appreciate everything, whether technical or creative, in a new light.
Workplace
During HS, I mainly worked in offices. My first job was with a Real Estate office, then an Chiropractor, Dentist, and Anesthologiest's office.
After HS, I worked for about 2 weeks at the CCCC recruiting office, until I received the opportunity to work for EDS and have been here ever since. I'm one of the fortunate few, I feel, who have been able to stay at the same company for over 9 years and not get laid off. I'm currently working in the Global Communications department within EDS, supporting the External/Internal and Creative production side of our company. Pretty much, anything that is seen or heard inside or outside of EDS, my teams help create, promote, and back our company.
