Jemn's Story
Life
I am proud to be a mother of two beautiful children: Jazmyn and James Andrew. After I completed two Bachelors Degrees at Indiana University in South Bend: Bachelors of Arts in General Studies and Bachelors of Science in English Education, I became a Language Arts Teacher at Elkhart Memorial High School where I work with 9th and 11th graders teaching many things from "The Lamentable Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet" to "Fences." I am a published poet and am currently working on my own book of prose.
Although I am divorced, and have been for some time, I am happy with where I am in my life. I may not be where I am headed, but I'm on the right journey.
I would like to say that the best thing in my life is my strong belief in the One, True God.
School
I was very active in the Arts, when I was in High School. I hung out with a diverse group of people and remember being friends with many - I hope that I'm right. High School wasn't the most pleasurable experience of my life, but not the worst by any stretch of the imagination. I hop...Expand for more
e to be remembered for being serious about having fun.
College
College has been the most trying time of my life. I started school at Indiana State University in 1988. I quit after a traumatic experience, but kept going to school.
In 2000, I began to continue my education at Fayetteville Tech and then to UNC - Pembroke, NC from 2001-2002. In 2003, I began my final years at IU - South Bend. I'm glad I'm still here, but I'll be glad to be done on May 10, 2005.
Workplace
I am a hard worker. I always give 120% when I am at work - and that sometimes leads to my failure in other areas. But with BALANCE and faith, I hope to be a better educator, parent, sister-friend, and one-day wife.
Military
My military experience was the best and most diverse of my life. I loved ever day - even when those days were bad and I complained. I loved it! I would have stayed in forever, if it weren't for my family responsibilities. My children come first and Uncle Sam stopped helping me, so home I went. I will long remember fondly my time in service.
