Mick's Story

Seems that change comes so fast that as soon as I finish putting things down in print, it's already obsolete, but here goes. Married 40 years to Jennifer Murray from Glendora. We have 3 kids (1 boy, 2 girls) oldest daughter is a school teacher and organizes the home school effort in Kansas City, Mo., second daughter is a legal assistant for a lawyer in KC, and our son is a police officer in Independance, Mo.. Very proud of ea. one, and 10 grandkids (6 girls, 4 boys) all special in their own unique way. After high school I worked in retail, then construction. Did a 6 year hitch in the Navy as an electronics tech on the USS Hewitt, a Spruance class destroyer. Would have re-upped but the wife said I'd be doing it by myself so figured it was time to make a change. After the Navy we moved to Lake Arrowhead and operated a glass shop for a couple years. In 1993 we moved again to Maryville, Mo. Where we had a home improvement business for 16 years. We eventually closed that and began working for Cat Scale, doing maint...Expand for more
enance on truck scales all around the country and Canada. Kept us on the road a lot. We sold our home in Maryville and moved to a condo in Lake Ozark, Mo. Had a great view and a boat dock. Also had astronomical maintenance fees that were going crazy so moving forward five years we sold the condo and bought a house in Warsaw, Mo. Still have a lake view, although not as good, nice home on 1-1/2 acres with oak and pecan trees next to state corp land on Truman Lake. Enjoyed Cat Scale but very physical and after 3 surgeries to hold me together figured it was time to move on while I still can so we bought a 40' straight truck and leased on with FedEx Custom Critical. Love it. We enjoy family, hiking, boating, fishing, kayaking, 4 wheelin' back roads in the hills searching for arrowheads and metal detecting. Haven't really kept up with anyone from fohi except my brother Paul of course, who is doing very well in Indio, and long time friend Ken LaRovere. Hope all is going well. Drop a line if you get a chance. Mick

Found something about a local plant asst lake of the Ozarks. This particular plant expels ice that gets into its base. It seems to wrap around the stem when out does and is so fragile that out seems a little gust of wind ca
