Jennifer's Story
Since graduation in 1967, there have been many life changes. My first husband was a Symphony conductor and an excellent sportsman [hunting and fishing]. He was killed, leaving me a single mom with a young son and 2 daughters. I went back to school at Indiana University in 'cello performance, studying with 2 world-famous 'cellists--Fritz Magg and Janos Starker. [Today's #1 'cellist, Yo Yo Ma, was a classmate!] Unfortunately, tendinitis shortened a professional career. I remarried and co-founded a satellite videoconferencing business in NY, NY for 8 years. After 21 years of marriage, I divorced and have been happily single since. I currently reside in Frisco, a Dallas suburb.
My three birth children live in Vancouver Canada [Jon], Chicago [Deidre] and Atlanta [Andrea], and my stepson, Mark, lives in Frederick, MD. Jon originally was a geneticist, but is now in the pharmaceutical industry and travels WW. Deidre works with children and Andrea manages a business that does EPA work. Mark is an accountant with IBM. They have given me 5 beautiful granddaughters ranging in age from nearly 13 to 7. I have to tell you, being a grandmother and a mother is just the best! Love them dearly.

Data Systems [now HP] for 25 years. Since graduation, I lived in Indiana, Illinois, South Dakota, Connecticut, Atlanta, Dallas and in Wiesbaden Germany. I have traveled extensively, but have yet to go to South America and Asia [except for Australia, where I did some consulting for several weeks.]
While at EDS/HP, I was in sales for a while; led the Global Communications Industry business planning and strategy practice; did a stint with Corporate Marketing and led WW Alliances and Mega Deal Marketing. After that, I was the global manager for EDS' multi-year plan for Infrastructure Services. That position led to another. I managed the finances for the integration of HP's and EDS' networks. I also led some cost savings and revenue improvement efforts. Part of this was running Network Services' Best Shore outsourcing program. My last position with HP was documenting processes, systems workflows and regulatory compliance worldwide for Cloud Services. Time flew, as they say.
For my last 'work chapter' of my life, I am considering a position with a non-profit. After that, it will be family, friends, music, gardening and, of course, my cats [so I will be that little old lady next door with the cats!] Life is a gift that I celebrate each day, and I am so very thankful.
