Jennifer's Story
Life
I've spent most of my post high school years in college. After four years obtaining a B.S. MIS degree at the University of Wyoming I worked (4.5 years) for the Union Pacific Corporation as a corporate auditor and then as a financial analyst and then financial manager for a Union Pacific affiliate. These jobs took me all over the U.S, and gave me the opportunity to see Washington D.C., Richmond Virginia, too much of Texas, Oklahoma City, and the wonders of Utah. I spent 10 years in Utah, first working then going to school. I found out that I didn't much fit into the corporate world (I hated it), so I tried a masters/Ph.D in Anthropology. . I have a wonderful dog named Tukadeka (Shoshone for "sheep eater"), three nephews and one niece (in the picture). While I continue my schooling in Tucson I work full time as an editor of a magazine, writing articles about houses, kitchens, doors, windows, decks, paints, etc. While I pretended to be an anthropologist I went to India for 2.5 months, lived as a middle class Indian woman and had one of those perspective-altering experiences. The world really doesn't look that different on the opposite side of the planet, its just that the people (in Southern India) don't kill you for your wallet. Oh, yes, and I was married for 10 years, but we parted ways in 1997 after I had supported him through graduate school to receive his Ph.D.
