Bob Jenson:  

One of the first kids to live full time at the old Quail Valley Country Club (1946). First school attended was the old "one room" school on Newport Rd. Attended grammer school in Perris and PHS at the old school. Played JV football, basketball, and track. The schools in our league were Perris, Elsinore, Hemet, San Jac., Banning, Beaumont, Palm Springs, and Cochella. I played in the band, and was on the tumbling team under Ed Rickets. Like a lot of you, I worked in the Perris Valley farms moving sprinkler pipe, loaded boxcars in the potato shed at Romoland, trucked hay in Lakeview, and worked at the market at Kirkpatrics. Dropped out of PHS at 16 and went to work as a painter apprentice (union). Did that for a year before joining the U.S. Navy. I served for 26 years and traveled to many countries and over many seas.
