Jenyfer's Story
Lol, it's been a LONG time. What can I tell you? Life happens and goals change. When I was young, I wanted to be like my mother. Now I'm not as certain of that, but I admire so much about her that I am glad of our similarities. I have lived in several places since HS in Independence, all in MO, all country or small towns. I like living in the country better, but town life has its conveniences. I like to read, go to the lake, swim, take pictures, work on my hobbies. Currently, my passion is photography - people, scenery, animals, macro and micro... It's fun and pretty gratifying. Life has not turned out the way I envisioned. "successful heart surgery" in 2007. My older daughters have all graduated HS, 2 have advanced degrees, and our youngest is going into 2nd grade. I have learned that what others learn from you is not necessarily what you intended to teach - indeed it seems to be curiously opposite what you intended (especially when it came to our kids as teens)! I am now 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now were old beyond belief and that I would never live that long. Fortunately, I was SO completely wrong. Every day is new and offers its own opportunities. I have recently started my own business, and while I will still need to work for others for awhile, the plan is to earn a living by working for myself doing things I enjoy. I can think of several things in my life that I would rather have not experienced, but they are part of what made me who I am and so I do not regret them. Life is unique, but always blessed - I admit sometimes it is hard to see the blessing immediately, but I always know it is there.
