Life
Howdy all, been a long damn time huh? Well, where to start...hhhmmm 1988 sounds good, moved to Winona, MN to attend college, after a few years of fumbling around I got my grub steak together and made off for Alaska with a head full of ideas of hard work and fortunes to be made. Well, it was certainly hard work, but there were no fortunes to be had by me on the fishing boats, hell, I made more picking morel mushrooms for gas money on the way home near the Yukon border!
The end result of that trip was it kicked my ass into gear, finished a degree in hydrogeology and landed a position at an environmental consulting firm in La Crosse, WI where I stayed for 10 years. Met my wonderful wife Terrianne while in college in 1989, we married in 1997 and lived in the La Crosse area until we had our boy Payton in October 2003. We decided to get him closer to the grandparents so we both took positions down in the Chicago area in Oct. 2004 and have been here living the rat race since, it seems not much and yet everything has changed here...Expand for more
, kind of strange to come back after so long, but it suits us well, though I certainly miss the views of the Upper Mississippi River Valley and being so close to that mighty river for so long. Working at an engineering/consulting firm cleaning up contaminated sites, do a bit of traveling for work which is always interesting and my wife who grew up in Northbrook was the Director of Operations of the Deans office at the Chicago Medical School and has since moved on to become the Director - Medical and Research Activities at the Alzheimer's Association so we've got our hands full with work and I'm now a VP at an environmental consulting firm. Our 2 kids are now (2017) 9 and 14, and don't forget about the 2 year old Irish Setter. I was just casually thinking about the fact that a 30 year reunion is not far off on the horizon and I simply could not believe there has been more than another entire life spent outside of the walls of BG, its just amazing how time has flown.
So, I guess that's about it for the past almost 28+ years.
