Jerilyn's Story
Hello Classmates,
Since high school so much has happened. The highlights are that I married my childhood heart throb, Mike Smith, class of 1965. We were married for 27 years when he passed away from lung cancer. We had three children, 2 girls from his first marriage and we had a son. I am very happy to say that I have two great kids, Teresa and Bryan and three beautiful granddaughters.
One of Mike and I's favorite past times was motorcycling, riding our Harleys together was our passion. I was so concerned that riding would stop. But about a year after Mike had been gone for a year and a posting on Craig's list gave me the connection. On Super Bowl Sunday 2008 I met my new husband, Calvin DeChellis. . Time has been very good to us and we are very happy, even my kids love him. We live in San Bruno, CA.
As for my career, it has made some changes over the years. It started in the 70's at Atari, Inc where I spent 10 years. Following Atari I worked at a couple of high tech companies where my immediate management had no understanding or sympathy of motherhood. When my son was about 8 years old I went to work the Santa Clara Unified School District. I have been working as the Attendance Clerk at Santa Clara High School for 10 years. I am currently the President of the classified union, California School Employees Association. I have been with the district since 1994.
Cal and I are looking forward to retirement, traveling, riding and spoiling our grandchildren.
