Jerold's Story
College
Started junior college as a junior in highschool majoring in business, computer science and minor in math. Finished College of the Redwoods largely unknown owing to the fact that I am an introvert and shy. Transfered to Chico State, trying to stay close to home and keep expenses down and found Chico State an impossible match for me as well as being totally ignorant of what I wanted or what I was capable of. I went to work and attended Shasta College, a junior college, to follow my passions enrolling in choir and found myself invited to be in theater stage productions. I was selected to dance in many productions and had a leading part for " Godspell " singing and dancing.
Those days are a very dim memory, but the passion has continued to burn strong in my heart. I now have been taking dance lessons and dancing many days per week in practice and social communion with West Coast Swing, Hustle and Night Club Two Step. The swing styles of West Coast Swing and Hustle keep me interested and interesting and the Night Club Two Step is very romantic and smooth. I have a wonderful dance community here in Chico and my life is very fulfilling being with my passion.

ss has mostly been finding employment in areas that I wanted experience for my interests. I used a job of being a plumbers helper for two years to get knowledge to remodle houses and build my first home. I helped my sister build a straw bale house in Virginia. I also remodeled my first four plex when married and have since lost it all except the love of the experience of renovating an old Victorian home.
Now days I work in upper management in a manufacturing plant. I carry around clipboard, pen, tape measure and calipers, comparing parts to prints and making reports. I love my job working only 40 hours a week with weekends off. I very very seldom take my work home. Life is great being totally out of debt and living quite freely alone.
I have moved to Salem Oregon after being laid off when economic downturn affected profits in manufacturing. I have a small new dance community here and a wonderful mate relationship. I spend time gardening and preparing organic alkaline produce for freezing to continue to enjoy summer foods during the fall winter and spring. We are vegan, vegetarian and alkaline as much as we can be when we eat at home or on some regularity at restaurants that cater to us.
