Jerome's Story

Jerry Judd is a Thinking Partner for the Pathway to Academic Success Project with the University of California, Irvine (UCI) School of Education and the UCI Writing Project. A Fellow of the UCI Writing Project (1982) and a former UCI Writing Project Associate Director, he taught middle and high school from 1981-2018 in the Irvine Unified School District in California. He has also worked for the UC Irvine School of Education as a Single Subject Supervisor for English candidates in the Teacher Education Program. ications include The National Writing Project Quarterly, Thinking/Writing: Fostering Critical Thinking Skills Through Writing, Practical Ideas for Teaching Writing as a Process, Reading, Thinking and Writing About Multicultural Literature, Successful Writing in Months and Poetry Fullerton. He has shared his ideas at major conferences such as National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), California Teachers of English (CATE), Computer Using Educators (CUE) and the University of California, Irvine Conference on the Teaching of Writing. He is also an accomplished sailor, spending his spare time on the water and sharing his expertise and love of the sport with the yachting community.
