Jerry's Story
Life
I am married (almost 8 years, Jennifer), I have two beautiful daughters (Kaylee, 16; Kelsey, 15) and a son on the way in July, and three cats (Shadow, Shai, and Angel). My wife and I just purchased a home in Springfield, Il., so that's probably where I will be until I die. My interests are; collecting 80's music on my PC, collecting and playing the Magic: The Gathering trading card game, reading fantasy and science fiction, music (I sing and am teaching myself guitar), Cardinals baseball. I plan on retiring from my current job (when it's time) unless I get discovered before then and become a pop star...I write beautiful lyrics, still working on writing the beautiful music to put them to. The band thing didn't really work out too well for me, it's dificult to find the right group of people to work with (yeah, it was probably just me!!) If you are only going to get one-fifth of the vote you should at least feel like it is being considered occasionally. So I go solo...technology has created a world where you can write, record, engineer, and produce music right from your own home!! So why not? D.I.Y.!!! And I have recently completed a total legal name change, a thing that I consider to be the best money I ever spent...it is now the nickname I picked up while I attended CHS. It wasn't really a "go back to high school" feeling, it was because of who the nickname honored.
School

It wasn't a bad school, and I did meet a lot of cool people while attending. I was just not in a frame of mind to enjoy it, because of some family issues that were pretty much constantly going on the whole time we lived there. Things got much better after I moved here to Springfield, because I broke away from my family's self-destructive life-style chioces and was able to try on my own to have the life I wanted. I have, so far, managed to do just that.
However...
Every bit of the character I am now can be traced back to my time in school. Everything that I saw and learned and did combined to create the devastating mixture of charm and wit that I use today to win friends and slay enemies. And my sense of humor is still intact too...
Workplace
I spent many years in the restaurant industry in various capacities; cook, counter help, waiter, management. After awhile I just couldn't take it anymore and moved on to lawn care service for several years. Working outside seemed to be exactly what I was looking for but I never had time to do anything else. So now I work for the Secretary of State in Vehicle Services. I work part time hours with full time pay, decent benefits. I work in a call center for vehicle title and registration inquiries. I consider this position to be the greatest job I have ever had (see above for comparison, heh heh!), even when you include the "screamers", those who just want to call and yell at someone.
