Jerry's Story
I have never forgotten the people I grew up with and attended school with and am appreciative of the opportunity to know each of them. So, I hope to reestablish contact with friends and
I retired from the government after working 32 years as an environmental scientist in the Departments of Interior, Energy, Defense, and the Environmental Protection Agency. My wife and I moved to Williamsburg, Virginia (2624 Sir Thomas Way, Williamsburg, Va, 23185) and live with our cat Sophie. We have no human children, but have had several feline "kids" over the years.
I have volunteered at animal shelters for many years and am an animal and environmental activist. Now, I am a volunteer interpreter at Historic Jamestowne where I talk to visitors about the archaeological excavations.

and books are my passion. But, I do like to ride bikes and have done some kayaking which I enjoy. I also like to workout some to try and keep in good health. I listen mostly to classical music and enjoy going to art galleries and museums.
I have been auditing marine science courses at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science which I enjoy very much and will continue to take courses in the future.
My wife Barbara has a very serious and very rare illness called amyloidosis and has just finished a round of chemotherapy. The disease is not cancer but treated using chemotherapy agents used to treat multiple myloma. Protein fragments are produced in the bone marrow and deposited in various organs. There is no cure and it can become life threatening if the heart or kidneys become involved
