Jerry's Story
Life
I enlisted in the US ARMY in January of 1969. I attended Basic Training at Ft. Benning, GA. After Basic I married Brenda Stokes whom a lot of you didn't know.
We went to El Paso, TX where I attended Radar School in the ARMY.
In January of 1970 I transferred to my Duty Station at Ansbach, Germany and was there for three years.
In Febuary 1973 I was transferred to Homestead AFB, Homestead, Fl, where I spent the next three years
I left active duty in January 1976 and promptly enlisted in the ARMY Reserve Program. I finally fully retired out of the ARMY in July 1992.
During that period of time I lived in Denver and Littleton, CO for 11 years.
In Febuary 1991 I was called back to Active Duty for Desert Storm and assigned to Brooke ARMY Hospital for the duration of the conflict. I spent six months there before being released back to the Reserves.
I finally retired in July of 1992 when my son Anthony was born.
Brenda and I were divorced in 1978.
I remarried a Lady from Denver in 1979.
Her name was Francena Smith. We had a son, Gre...Expand for more
gory who graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Aurora,CO.
Fran and I were divorced in 1987.
I remarried for a third time in 1988 and we aren't looking at divorce as an option. Helen and I have two boys, age 14 and 13.
We moved to Lubbock, TX after I was released from Desert Storm, and lived there until October of 1999. I took a position with a Hospital here in Texarkana and we moved over here.
Helen was also employed at the same facility as an MRI Technologist.
In August of 2001, I joined a company out of Dallas, TX. and am currently employed by them and doing contract work at several Hospitals in South Arkansas and North Texas. Still repairing broken Medical Equipment and X-Ray Systems.
We try to make it back to Brooksville as often as possible.
College
My College experience was just like the rest of my life-working. I went to school at night and worked a full time career during the day.
I managed to get through with a 3.5 GPA however and was glad for that. I do wish I had gone on and worked a little longer for my Master's.
