Jerry's Story
Life
Education: High School Yuma Union, Yuma AZ/West Grand High,Kremmling CO; College, Arizona Western, Yuma AZ (AAS)/ University of Arizona, Tucson AZ (BS/ME)/University of Phoenix (MBA/TM)
Occupation: Technology Development Manager, U.S. Department of Energy, Washington D.C.
In 2010 I was elected to Chair the International Energy Administration's Implementing Agreement on Advanced Materials for Transportation (IEA-IA-AMT), As a result I travel internationally about 3 times a year. I have been to Austria, Paris, Germany, Finland, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Canada, England and South Korea. Sometimes I can't believe the places I've been or the things I've been able to do. I had been traveling about 4 days a week, 3 weeks each month, so I was never in one place very long. But I always tried to make it home for the weekends....
2024 update, still working, don't travel as much anymore but am being pressed to get back on the road now that COVID is considered a non-issue. I think about retiring, then I get to do some exciting work and I just can't do it... maybe sometime in the next 5 years
Family: Married, 4 Children, 10 Grandchildren
I have been married for 35 Years and am just getting used to it... Kathleen and I met on the 2nd of August and got married 6 weeks later, life has been on fast forward ever si...Expand for more

Oldest step son passed away in 2015, he was born with a heart defect. The doctors said he wouldn't make it into his teens. He was 35 when he died. He had completed a BA degree in accounting, was married and had two adopted children (he was afraid he would pass on his heart defect). Kathleen has been fighting congestive heart failure since 2000, she is wheelchair bound but fights to live each day. Life is short and we should treasure every moment of it.
Update: We both survived COVID (avoided catching it) and are still surprised with every new day.
My daughter moved to a town west of Kremmling, and they played footbal against the Mustangs, it was fun talking to the grandkids about that... :)
My youngest son is now a Dr. in NYC... Now who would have expected that?
My sister Kathy (Class of 78) lived in Yuma with some of her girls. She was very sick with COPD during the last years of her life and I regret not being able to spend more time with her. Kathy died on 4/22/2017.
I have not been back to Yuma since then. I no longer have any ties there so it would be a wasted trip, aside from going to MR G's...
It would be nice to attend at least 1 class reunion, 50 would be cool.
I hope this year is good to all our classmates, may you and yours prosper and be healthy.
