Jerry's Story
Life
Well time sure goes by quick. Currently retired from teaching high school at Mission in Fremont. Graduated from San Jose State in 1970 and obtained an Electrical Engineering degree and Mathematics degree. Married in August 1970 and have 4 children. My wife, Marilyn, is a former school teacher also and we retired the same year. Oldest daughter, Valerie, is the B of A manager in Newark (33 yrs old), next is Mark (30) who is a Civil Engineer currently working on the Golden Gate Bridge, next is Monica (27) who is a beautician in Castro Valley, and last is Jennifer (24) who currently works at El Burro in Newark. School
Miss high school because of the contacts. In college we pretty much went our own ways and being at a time when we had to deal with Viet Nam. Would love to contact high school friends even though I only went to Newark High my last two years.
College
Pretty much worked to obtain a degree in Engineering and Math. Was very challenging and only regret not using my Math degree to teach sooner than I did. I loved working with kids who want to learn. At the time I was always told there is no money in teaching. Well I found out much later in life that money isn't everything. I finished out my working career with what I truly enjoyed and have no regrets.
